Michael Alexander Tanton
Michael Alexander Tanton

Michael Alexander Tanton (Born March 11, 1989 in London, Ontario) is a frequenter and editor of the popular free online encyclopedia Wikipedia. He is also interested in information technology in general, film, drama, and a cornucopia of other subjects.

[edit] Mini-Biography

Born in London, Ontario, Canada, which can be noted as the place of discovery of Insulin and also as the city where Johnny Cash proposed to his wife June Carter at the "London Gardens" performance hall, Michael (Mike) is a proud Canadian and a passionate political and military philosopher.

Mike attended Lord Elgin Public School in London, Ontario for a brief period of time during Junior Kindergarten (in the Province of Ontario the grades go as follows: Junior Kindergarten, Senior Kindergarten, Grades 1-8, Grades 9-12 (high school), and then on to College and University. Wisconsin also has two separate kindergarten grades.)

The remainder of Mike's public school career was served at Trafalgar Public School. Nearing graduation time in 2003 he made the choice of attending Central Secondary School as a high school, which is considered a very academic (perhaps even the most academic in the city of London) secondary school. This school is also noted as the only school in the world to produce two Miss Universe's (Karen Baldwin and Natalie Glebova).

In June of 2003 Mike graduated from Trafalgar Public School, and two month's later started in grade 9 at Central S.S. Mike is currently in grade 12, and still at Central. Mike is currently projecting his high school graduation to occur in June of 2007.

[edit] Views on Politics

Mike's Communist-Styled Ushanka
Mike's Communist-Styled Ushanka

Although many times considered a communist supporter (largely due to his Communist-insignia-laden Ushanka), Mike is in fact a slightly right-wing, but close to the center on the political spectrum. His views on the following topics are here:

[edit] Views on Abortion

Mike is a supporter of pro-choice and believes that it is nobody's decision to keep or abort an unborn child, except for the biological mother of the child. Mike is a frequent desecrater of anti-abortion advertisements and openly supports the medical procedure to those who know him, however infuriated it makes people.

[edit] Views on Gay Marriage

(No, I'm not gay)

Mike's views on homosexual relations are as follows: "The state, nor the church, nor any other entity, whether cognitive, theoretical, existent or otherwise shouldn't have any say whatsoever on the sexual or marital relationship of any living or dead human being on the face of the planet Earth. All who oppose this statement will naturally parish at the hands of our ever-changing and progressively non-religious society."

Pierre Elliot Trudeau quoted: "The view we take here is that the state has no business in the bedrooms of the nation."

[edit] Views on War

Mike's views on war are as follows: "War, the act of such, the understanding of such, and the concept of such have been so negatively contorted and warped beyond recognition in comparison with how wars should be waged. The United Nations and the Geneva Conventions have raped all member nation's (as well as all of the other world's nations) the right to wage wars how they want. It has become so bureaucratic and diplomatic to the point where it destroys more trees with it's use of official document and treaty papers than there are casualties. Although that previous sentence was, in fact, exaggerative, I believe that countries should have more freedom to wage wars without the annoyances of the United Nations, it's Security Council, or the strict (and sometimes ridiculous) stipulations of the Geneva Convention(s). I am a supporter of the decision by George W. Bush to invade Iraq, as it needed to be done for the sake of the non-insurgent and non-extremist Iraqi peoples, and for the sake of the world as a whole."

[edit] "The Future the World is to Bring Upon Itself"

Mike's current statement is as follows: "The future that the world is on the course to bringing into reality is that of a supreme governing body which has total power of the entire world, either by means of a legislative body or dictator, by laws and regulations or decree. It my come in two weeks, or two centuries, but it will come. History has shown that all civilizations or ways of life have evolved either over time or suddenly and drastically. The emergence of an international governing body wouldn't be a bad thing, though, as this would allow for greater standardization, less conflict, and an environmental restoration and preservation campaign that would have the full cooperation of the entire planet."

[edit] Views on Religion

Mike's current statement on religion is: "I myself am a believer in the theories of Charles Darwin and Evolutionism. I do not insult or discriminate against religions simply because I am not myself religious. I believe that embracing all of the other world's beliefs, and nobody insulting anybody else's religious beliefs, however contradictory they may be, is definately a step in the right direction which still needs to be fully taken."

[edit] The Christmas/Holiday Issue

"Canada, as well as the United States have recently been dealing with the trivial issue of whether or not that big day that falls on December 25th should be publicly referred to as Christmas, or just simply "The Holidays", to respect other's religions. I believe that Christmas should still be used as freely as wanted by whomever wants to use it. I should be able to say Merry Christmas to whoever I want, whenever I want, wherever I want. If somebody came up to me and said "Happy Hannukah", I wouldn't be offended one bit. And as for Christmas events, if you don't like the names of these events (ie, Christmas Assemblies, Christmas Parties), then don't go - it's that simple. Have a jolly good day."

[edit] Film

Mike is quite interested in films, and filmmaking in general. Some of his favourite (or it could be spelled "FAVORITE" for all you U.S Citizens) filmmakers consist of:

Among Mike's favourite movies, but in no particular order, are:

[edit] Acting

Mike is quite interested in acting, and is currently in the Central Secondary School Drama Program, where he hopes to enhance and increase his dramatic ability.

[edit] Web Designer

"Although I had once dreamed of becoming a famous and wealthy computer software mogul like Bill Gates, I have since changed my interests to film. I ran a website design "company" (with all of the employees amounting to 1: MYSELF) from about 2000 onwards. I used my personal website to operate my company."

[edit] The Future

"Currently, my future is, as is most high school student's futures, somewhat foggy. My current plan is to graduate Central S.S and be accepted at one of the following universities:

These universities offer film programs, where graduating students are awarded their BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) degree. I hope to become a director when I graduate from university. I hope to direct many things such as commercials, music videos, television shows, and first and foremost: feature films."
