Misbahuddin Zafar Alavi

Misbahuddin Zafar Alavi, Canadian Research Scholar and Academic, born in Hyderabad, grew up in Pakistan and went to Germany for higher education. He has a doctorate in human biology from the University of Ulm with magna cum Laude. He also holds degrees from Karachi, Heidelberg, and McGill Universities. He has held senior academic appointments at the Faculty of Medicine of McMaster and McGill Universities between 1980-2000. He is married and has a daughter and two sons. Dr. Alavi is an author and co-author of scores of scientific research publications including dissertations, book chapters, reviews, reports and more than 50 papers in peer-reviewed European and American Journals. His scientific contribution has been recognized in biographical reference titles such as American Men & Women in Science 1, Dictionary of International Biography 2 and International Directory of Distinguished Leadership3. Dr. Alavi lives in Ottawa with his family. His latest work, Hashimites of Kakori,[1] an online publication of genealogical records of Kakorian Alavi and Abbasi families, won acclaim from Alavis and Abbasis, living far and wide across Asia, Australia, Europe and North America.
