[edit] Gameplay
Mudman is a rather unique character who is able to summon spirits into battle where they perform various tasks such as dancing, attacking or lifting the opponent into the sky. When not summoning spirits Mudman tends to apply several unorthodox techniques such as hitting his opponent with his mask, turning himself into a sort of human buzzsaw or hurting his opponent by dancing with them. He also employs a variety of kick attacks, most of which are performed as jumps even if Mudman attacks off the ground, but he rarely throws a clean punch. In later games Mudman is able to hover by flapping his arms in the air.
[edit] Special Moves
- Mud Attack - Mudman's signature move where he summons a spirit to fly horizontally across the screen in order to attack the opponent. In later games he gains an additional more powerful version of this move called the Super Mudman Attack where a larger spirit, running and more powerful spirit is summoned instead.
- Mud Launcher - Using his mask, Mudman summans a spirit to launch diagonally upwards into the air and then come down again to crash into his opponent in a mortar-like manner. In later games Mudman is able to perform a mud attack and mud launcher in rapid succession and thus leaving two projectiles on screen at once.
- Mud Cutter - Mudman somehow hides most of his body inside his mask leaving only a sort of blade spinning horizontally like a propeller underneath it. He can move back and forth during this move in order to land to pressure the opponent with more hits or move out of harms way.
- Mud Gyro - Mudman's strongest anti-air attack where he will leap into the air while rotating his body, creating a hurricane-like wind effect around him that will hit anyone nearby. The move has no forward movement however which makes it hard to connect with if the opponent isn't jumping towards you.
- Seirei Kyuu - One of the few moves in Mudman's repetoire that doesn't include the word mud is this new super attack that he gains in NGBC. Mudman will put on a blue and more sinister-looking mask as he summons a large powerful sphere which he sends towards his opponent for big damage.
- Heaven's Cross / Heaven Blows - His super attack introduced in World Heroes Perfect has Mudman donning yet another creepy looking mask as he sits down to play a drum rapidly. This is an unblockable attack that will create a column of light in a place chosen by Mudman. If the opponent is caught inside it, he will be attacked and carried away by two spirits for big damage. The spirits vary depending on the version and include a pair of angels, two golden statues and a duo of large muscular-looking spirits made out of blue energy.

[edit] Trivia
- Although fictional in nature, Mudman does resemble real life New Guinean headhunters seen in photographs of the island chain.
- Mudman makes an appearance in the night-time Hunting Cave stage in KOF: Maximum Impact 2. He is standing behind one of the cliffs which makes him very difficult to see unless in Camera Mode.
- He has special intros with Nakoruru and Cyber Woo (with this one are partners and they have a special ending picture) in Neo Geo Battle Coliseum. These intros somewhat portray him as a comedy character.
