Murray Cook (baseball)

Murray Cook is a Canadian former general manager in Major League Baseball. Cook was the chief baseball operations executive for three MLB teams during the 1980s: the Montreal Expos, New York Yankees and Cincinnati Reds.
Cook previously served as assistant director of minor league operations (1972-77), then director of scouting (1977-82), of the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was the Yankees' scouting director in 1983.
From 2002 through 2006, Cook was a major league scout for the Boston Red Sox, joining Boston after nearly a decade as a scout for the Florida Marlins. He began the 2007 season as the East Coast regional crosschecker for the Detroit Tigers.
