Talk:Mushy peas
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I think they are broader than the north. You get mushy peas (without mint sauce alas) in chip shops in London. You can buy them in cans all over the UK I imagine. Secretlondon 20:55, 19 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] "Sodium bicarbonate is often added to soften the peas"
The purpose of the sodium bicarbanate is to inhibit fermentation during soaking which reduces later flatulence. I'm not sure this warrants a mention in such a short article although it's a useful thing to know if you're a big mushy pea eater like myself. Tatty 22:43, 29 October 2005 (UTC)
