Newman College (Perth)

Newman College is a K-12 co-educational Catholic College which operates in the Marist Tradition. It is currently a joint Governed College with the Governors being the Archbishop of Perth, Archbishop Barry Hickey, and the Provincial of the Marist Brothers of the Southern Province of Australia, Brother Paul Gilchrist.
The College is a foundation member of the Association of Marist Schools of Australia (AMSA).
The current College enrolment numbers are 1800 and students are split across three campuses. The Kindergarten to Year 3 students are located on the Marian Campus in Floreat, the year 4-7 students are located on the Lavalla Campus in Churchlands and the year 8-12 students on the Marcellin Campus in Churchlands.
The Current Principle is Mr Bernie Boss. The Head of Primary Education is Mrs. Joceyln Hansen, whilst the Head of Secondary Education is Mrs. Veronica Carey.
[edit] Guilds(Years 8-12)
The approximately 1800 secondary school students and staff are organised into eight different guilds. The guilds are the basis for the provision of pastoral support for the students. The eight guilds are: Brigid, Camara, Catherine, Chisholm, MacKillop, Marcellin, Romero and Thomas More. Inter-Guild competitions are regularly held covering both sporting and cultural activities, along with the annual swimming and athletics sports carnivals.
