Norton Bridge railway station
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Norton Bridge railway station is located between Stafford and Crewe on the West Coast Main Line near the village of Norton Bridge in Staffordshire, England.
The main line platforms were removed prior to electrification in the 1960s. The platforms serving the Manchester via Stoke-on-Trent branch of the WCML have been out of use since 2004 and the footbridge leading to the island platform (which is now inaccessible) has been removed in order to improve clearances.
The passenger train service has been replaced by two substitution bus services. Despite this, the station is still officially regarded as being open.
