These dates cannot be correct; This implies the Circle of BO was born ~500 years before BO. Since they are human and the fact that there is an emphasis that the circle keepers are human indeed later in the series supports that they could not have been born 500 years pervious for obvious reasons, unless I misunderstand and humans in the LoK universe live for over 500 years.

- Memebers of the Circle are meant to have magical powers. Hell, look at Mobeius. Ignoring the posibility of him continually
  being ressurected (because, from what we've seen, he gets ressurected roughly at the age he died at) and he's been around
  since the times of the ancients, which is well over 500 years.

Giving this futher thought, the error is a simple one and although there has to be new circle members born when the events of 500 BBO take place, they are not the circle members of BO, they are simple more unnamed humans who take the place of the two fallen in the events of 500 BBO. Eventually these additional unnamed circle members die and make way for new human circle members.

It is important to note that all circle members do not always die at the same time and the circle is not a set group of people at any one time; Meaning, even if one member dies, they are replaced by a birth and thefore, although the group of circle members has changed (the old member replace by the new,) the other members are still alive and in place.

The circle members in BO are simply the 8 who happen to be the current members of the circle when Ariel dies, and all happen to be alive by the events of BO. (Even if they had dies between Ariel's death and BO, would thier pillar not have correct itself without a symbol of it's old keeper?)

- From what I've read, and some of this may be speculation (I can't be bothered to check. The link to the interviews with the
  creators is on the main LoK entry, though) the Pillars will choose new guardians almost as soon as the old one dies. The
  only time this doesn't work is when the Pillars are corrupted. When this is the case, they not only need the "Binding token"
  to restore the pillar, but all pillars need to be restored in order for any new members to be chosen.

The idea that a new member is always born when an old member dies in turn brings about more questions, which can also be easily answered given a bit more though. Since Whenever a circle member dies, they are replaced by a new life (almost always human by the events of ~500 BBO,) one may question does the same happen during BO when Kain kills the members to restore the Pillars. This is an interesting question in that if it is the case; Are these newborn members effected by te corruption of thier respective pillar as Kain was? If so, is the (mental) corruption of the newborn members of the circle remedied when Kain offers the symbol of the old member to the pillar and thus fixes its corruption?

I feel that the writers probably sacraficed deeper plot in turn for a "Good-enough" story. They probably didn't expect anyone to analyze it so closly and therefore, left some things unaddressed. Which is reasonable considering how well contrued most video game plots are done now-a-days in comparison. However, although understandable, expecially in reguards to BO (the earliest, least-plot-complex installment of the series,) it still leaves those who contemplate deeper into the plot (which later in the series almost requires a complex analysis and evokes a deep, almost phyosophical questioning of the events) with such unanswered questions.

- The majority of such questions are actually answered, just not in the games themselves. Yes, this is silly.
