P.K.H. Tharakan

P K Hormis Tharakan was the chief of the Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW), India's external intelligence agency[1]. He was appointed to this role in February 2005. He belongs to the 1968 batch of the Indian Police Service and was previously Kerala's Director General of Police.
Tharakan, Secretary (R) in the Cabinet Secretariat, succeeded C D Sahay, a 1967 batch officer of the IPS' Karnataka cadre who retired on January 31,2005.
Tharakan retired on January 31,2007.
