Parachute music festival

Parachute is an annual music festival of contemporary Christian music in New Zealand. The festival has over 29,000 people attending each year. It takes place each summer on the last weekend of January at Mystery Creek in Hamilton. Until 2003 it was held at Totara Springs, Matamata.
It is run by Parachute Music, a Christian music charitable trust that also has a record company, a publishing company, and a Christian CD wholesale business. The Parachute Festival is sponsored by Life FM, World Vision and Coca-Cola.

Popular local bands that regularly play at Parachute include Mumsdollar, Trigger Theory, Steriogram, The Lads, Brooke Fraser, Rapture Ruckus, juliagrace, Late 80's Mercedes, Moped, Wash, Blair Giles, Form, Chris Mason-Battley Group, and Parachute Music's own Parachute Band. Older bands include Soda, Obadiah and the minor prophets, Krusty.

Parachute 2007 was held from Friday 26 January to Monday 29 January. There were 7 stages:
- Mainstage - The place to view all the key acts and international artists. It has stadium seating and a massive arena. Mainstage was the venue for the most electrifying live shows, as well as morning meetings and seminars.
- The Palladium - 'The festivals largest indoor stage.'
- Deluxe -
- The Hangar - 'Home to the pre-teens program and live DJs playing in the afternoons.'
- Debut Stage - 'The Debut Stage hosts new NZ talent'
- The Dome
- Village Stage
