[edit] John Arbuthnot (disambiguation)

  • I suppose I regard MoS as being general guidelines rather than absolute rules. In other words, I think there may be good reasons for piping which are not covered by MoS. In these cases my reasons are these.
  • John Arbuthnot is generally known as Dr Arbuthnot or Dr John Arbuthnot. He is most widely known for having invented the character of John Bull. Incidentally he was born of Scottish ancestry but broadly rejected that heritage, becoming very Anglophilic and slightly Scotophobic.
  • And Sir John Arbuthnott is definitely known as Sir John Arbuthnott and only esoterics (such as me) are aware of his middle name. He is probably best known for "the Arbuthnott formula" and for his involvement in the Scottish health service.
  • You are doing a splendid job. Thank you. What happened to your toc_contents? With best wishes. - Kittybrewster 19:49, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
  • I have created him but need help with wikilink to Sir Archibald Campbell please. I see you as a variety of Crimson cleaner fish. - Kittybrewster 08:47, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Earl of Dysart

  • Done. It was a cut-and-paste (ish) move anyway, so I just reverted everything. Proteus (Talk) 09:08, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Lord Rennell

  • It's entirely possible. Proteus (Talk) 16:57, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Baldred

  • Very many thanks for your message on my Tak Page. I had searched for a St.Baldred and found nothing. I did not think of spacing it, as normally when typing a saint (St.John) you would not insert a space. I really do apologise for that. I would be very happy for the information to be merged. Do you want me to do that? You may note that my information differs in some respects. I took it mostly from one 19th century scholarly book, plus another directory of the ealy 20th century. There were no proper sources to the 'existing' St.Baldred article. Regards. David Lauder 20:20, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Lord William Beresford

  • Tbh you do so many edits it's a amazing how few mistakes you make Alci12 17:32, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Saint Baldred

  • Thanks for your note. I have attempted to do as you said but I must have done something wrong. Could you look at the St.Baldred page for me please. David Lauder 12:24, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AfD - Baron of Dirleton

  • Looks OK to me. Feel free to correct it. - Kittybrewster 07:54, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Please vote on both - Kittybrewster 09:55, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] John Lawrence Pritchard

  • OK, sorry about the mistake with the style of address and the dates. But I wish that when people make mistakes like that, the correctors would just correct the mistake, not revert all the edits that were made at the same time. I've gone back to the article and put some of my other edits back in. DTOx 17:35, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Succession boxes

  • I think that looks awful but I'll try to conform! Regards Tryde 20:04, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Robert Cary

  • Do you have a source other than thepeerage for your addition of the knighthood at 17 yrs old which would be so extraordinary as to require some spectacular act or event. I suspect it must be an error from that site but the London gazette is down at the moment so I can't search. Alci12 21:58, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
