Pi Iota Chi Christian Multicultural Sorority, Inc. Alpha Chapter was founded at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor campus on February 9th of the year 2001 by Brandi Nicole Van Horn and Blair Noel Glover. Both ladies received the same vision from the Lord to form this organization. They are both 2003 alumni from the University of Michigan and servants of the Lord. They formed this organization to focus on the strengthening of one's relationship with God, academic excellence, sisterhood, community service, and fellowship, all in the name of the Lord. The founding members of this organization that worked along with these founders to bring forth the vision were Leah "Princess" Harris and LaJuana "Wanie" Mitchell.
The beta chapter was founded on October 23, 2001 on the campus of Kettering University by Traci Williams.
In the fall of 2005, Alpha Chapter Alumna/National Executive Chapter Member, Leah "Princess" Harris, founded the Gamma Chapter of Pi Iota Chi on the campus of Georgia State University.

Pi Iota Chi Christian Multicultural Sorority, Inc. is a sisterhood that strives on a daily basis to live more like Christ. The sisters of Pi Iota Chi live by the Word of God and stand firmly on it. Their focus is strengthening their relationship with the Lord while having fun and pursuing academic excellence. The organization serves as a ministry and a support system that impacts it's members as well as the world around it.

The mission of the organization is to convey the love of God through fellowship and sisterhood, to serve as a support system that focuses on strengthening their relationship with God, academic excellence, sisterhood, community service, and fellowship. The sisters of Pi Iota Chi strive to set an example in the likeness of God for his divine purpose. Throughout their mission they shall magnify Christ and let their accomplishments be a testimony onto Him, their Savior Jesus Christ, the Lord.
