From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pollycarpus Budihari Priyanto {born 1961) is a former Garuda Indonesia airline pilot. He is claimed to have poisoned human rights activist Munir Said Thalib with arsenic on September 7, 2004. On August 8, 2005, he went on trial for the alleged murder.
In December 2005, Priyanto was found guilty and sentenced to fourteen years' imprisonment. In October 2006, his charge was annulled by the Supreme Court, citing insufficient evidence.[1]
He was freed on December 26, 2006, after receiving a month reduction on his sentence - less than the time remaining to serve - as part of a holiday amnesty.
