Powelliphanta lignaria rotella is a large rare terrestrial mollusc in the family Rhytididae, endemic to the South Island of New Zealand. It is only in the Seddonville area, and on the western slopes of Mount Glasgow.
The shell has a dense dorsal pattern of dark reddish-brown spiral lines, as well as a few bold widely spaced dark brown axial streaks. There are only faint to obsolete spiral lines on the othwise plain yellowish-olive base.
Major diameter is up to 42 mm, and height up to 28 mm.
Powelliphanta lignaria rotella is classified by the New Zealand Department of Conservation as being Nationally Endangered.
