(Other than the switching between present and past tenses) this article needs simplifying so that non Americans (and Americans not up to speed with politikspeak) can make sense of it. The article makes too much assumption on the part of the reader, and some of the sections on individuals do not make sense to readers not familiar with the subject (i.e. ME!). Whilst written in a nuetral tone, this article may violate WP:NPOV as it uses party euphemisms for policy, etc. and aims without commenting on the success or otherwise of said policy.
