In Federal Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald's investigation of corruption in the State of Illinois, the charge was made that a high-ranking Illinois public official (“Public Official A”), acting through two close associates, was selecting consultants for the private equity funds that appeared before the State Pension Funds. [1]
In time, two close associates of Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, Stuart Levine and Antoin Rezko were indicted by the Federal Prosecutor.
