شاه رُخ خان په اصل کې په يوې پښتنې کورنۍ کې زېږېدلی، د پلار نوم يې تاج محمد خان او د مور نوم يې لطيف فاطمه ده، [1] وروسته بيا په نوي ډېلي کې لوی شوی دی. د شاه رُخ خان کورنۍ په اصل کې د پېښور د قصه خواني بازار د سيمې دي، چې د هند او پاکستان د بېلېدو نه مخکې هندوستان کې مېشت شوي. شاه رخ خان د ماشومتوب نه د يو هر اړخيزه وړتوبونو خاوند وه او کله چې په سېنټ کولمبيا ښوونځي کې وه نو د درسونو تر څنګ به په سپورټ او ډرامه کې هم تر ټولو ځلېده. هغه په ډېر وړکينې د «د پت توره» انعام ګټلی وه، دا هغه جايزه وه چې د ښوونځي تر ټولو هغه پياوړي زده کوونکي ته ورکول کېده کوم چا چې به د ښوونځي په هر يوه ډاګي کې لاس درلوده او پدې توګه به يې د ښوونځي روحي فضا عالي ساتله.هغه د Z-18 د ښوونځي د ملي-بس، کوم چې د ښوونځي نه تر سوېلي ډهېلي پورې د وړو راوړلو لاره پرې لنډه وه، کفتان هم وه. همدغه ملي-بس به راهول دېو او موکول دېو چې دا دواړه هم لوبګران دي، هم ښوونځي ته رسول.

وروسته له دې چې شاه رُخ خان خپل مور او پلار له لاسه ورکړل نو هغه د يوه نوي ژوند د پيل لپاره مومبيي ته کډه وکړه.[3] هغه خپل د لوبګرۍ ژوند په ۱۹۸۸ زېږيز کال کې په يوه ټلويزوني سريال «فوجي» کې د رول په لوبولو سره پېل کړه. پدې سريال کې شاه رخ خان د يوه پوځي قومندان ابهي مانيو رای رول لوباوه.[4] تر دې وروسته يې بيا په يو بل ټلويزوني سريال کې چې په ۱۹۸۹ زېږيز کال کې د سرکس په نامه وه هم يو وړوکی رول لوبولی دی.[5] د دغه وروسته نومېدلي سريال کيسه د سرکس د لوبغاړو پر څرخېدله. په همدغه کال کې يې په يوه ټلويزوني فلم کې هم يو وړوکی رول ترلاسه کړ او ددې فلم نوم In Which Annie Gives it Those Ones. د باليووډ په فلمونو کې په لومړي ځل په ۱۹۹۲ زېږيز کال کې راښکاره شو او دده د لومړني فلم نوم «ديوانه» دی.
He got critical acclaim for his performances in Baazigar and Darr (1993), in which he played anti-hero and obsessive-lover roles respectively. In 1995 he starred in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge which was a critical and commercial success[6] and has has entered its twelfth year in Mumbai theaters, grossing nearly twelve billion rupees in all.[7]
After this, Khan frequently collaborated with directors Yash Chopra and Karan Johar and starred in several of their successful films in the romantic genre including Dil to Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003) and Veer-Zaara (2004). In 2006 he again teamed up with Karan Johar for the multi-starrer Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna which has been very successful in India and overseas. That same year he played the title role in the hit movie Don, a remake of the 1978 film Don.
Khan also won critical praise for his performances in Anjaam (1994), Dil Se (1998), Hey Ram (2000), Swades (2004), and Paheli (2005) which were not as successful commercially.
Khan also produces films and co-owns Dreamz Unlimited, a film production company, with Juhi Chawla and director Aziz Mirza. The first two of the films he produced and starred in, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani (2000) and Asoka (2001) were box office failures. [8] [9]
His third film as a producer and star Chalte Chalte (2003) was the first hit from his production house. [10] In 2004 Main Hoon Na which was produced by another of his production houses, Red Chillies Entertainment, [11] was his second hit as both producer and star. In 2005 he produced and starred in Paheli, which was India's selection for the Academy Awards (foreign films category) but did not win. That same year he also co-produced the film Kaal with Karan Johar and performed an item number for the film with Malaika Arora Khan.
Nasreen Munni Kabir, the noted British filmmaker, produced a two-part documentary on Shah Rukh, "The Inner and Outer World of Shah Rukh Khan" (2005). Featuring his 2004 Temptations concert tour, the film contrasted Khan's inner world of family and daily life with the outer world of his work. Recently another book "Still Reading Khan" (2006) was released on SRK which talks about his family and his life.
Khan is currently the host of Kaun Banega Crorepati, the Indian version of Who wants to be a millionaire?, [12] after taking over from Amitabh Bachchan. The show is deemed the most popular programme in Indian television history. On Monday, January 22, 2007, "KBC" aired after a hiatus. Reviews of Khan's hosting style has been mostly postive. His sense of friendliness and humor with the shows participants has has been graced by everyone.[citation needed]

- A wax figure of SRK will be unveiled in March at Madame Tussauds in London. His wax figure will join Aishwarya Rai's and Big B's. [13]
- Khan has recently taken over as the new host on Kaun Banega Crorepati (Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - the Indian version). Started on 22nd Jan 2007 and seems to be a big hit. Previously Amitabh Bhachan used to host the show. SRK had a set made at his home Mannat so that he could practice.
- Although Khan is best known for playing romantic roles, he has played a villain in five of his movies: Baazigar, Darr, Anjaam, Duplicate and Don - The Chase Begins Again.
