Quinton Andrews

Quinton Andrews (born June 23rd, 1987 in Opa Locka, Florida) is an American football sophomore safety for the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Quinton Andrews is one of the four children of Laurena Andrews and Kelvin Daye. Andrews was part of the state championship basketball team his sophomore year and lettered in track also. Andrews' Monsignor Edward Pace High Spartans won state title his junior year and he was honored to the Dade-Broward all-star game. During Andrews' senior year, he recorded 85 tackles, three interceptions, two forced fumbles, and also caught 26 passes for 637 yards and 8 touchdowns. He was honored to the first-team all-state and all-Dade teams as a senior.

Quinton Andrews enrolled at West Virginia University in 2006. Andrews played great in practice, being nicknamed WVU's "Hit Man", for being such a hard-hitter in practice. With Mike Lorello and Jahmile Addae graduated, only Eric Wicks was the certain starting safety. Andrews was named starter for the Friends of Coal Bowl against Marshall University, and since that game he started every game for the rest of the year. Andrews had a team-best five interceptions and 72 tackles. Andrews' had an interception against Marshall, Eastern Washington, University of Cincinnati, University of South Florida, and Georgia Tech. Andrews also recovered a fumble. Quinton Andrews was named to the third-team Freshman All-American team, along with fellow Mountaineer Greg Isdaner.
