Microsoft is kindly sponsoring me for total three days in late Jan, early Feb 2007 to edit articles relating to ISO, OOXML, ODF and standards. See my blog.
This is very controversial and utterly misleading articles have circulated in the world press. These give the idea that there is some scandal and secret exposed, whereas all the infomation comes from my blog. Furthermore, MS was entirely cool with me writing about it. And they wanted no editorial control or approval. For Wikipedia, I should stress that I would not be editing any material relating MS or its brands or products. So there is no direct conflict of interest. However, I would presumably be making suggestions on articles on open standards that MS (and others) may use.
