[edit] Controversies
He, alongwith other VVIPs like HH the Dalai Lama and the Chief Justice of India, has been exempted from frisking at airports The list of such VVIPs was compiled and forwarded to the concerned authorities by the government on September 26, 2005. Others on the list include the President, the Prime Minister, former PMs and presidents and SPG protectees.[1]. This move has come under scrutiny since arguably more important entities like the Chiefs of Army, Navy and Air Force staff are not extended this waiver. However, BCAS Commissioner S R Mehra declined comment.[2]
His bodyguard was prevented from carrying a pistol into Parliament[3].
