Rotational bell painting
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A rotational bell is a painting consisting on a bell (a conical metal disc) were the paint is forced from its center to the edges of this bell due to the centrifuge force.
The bell spins at a high speed, 50,000 rpm for example. This atomizes the paint. Either the paint, in the case of solvent borne, or the air, in the case of water borne, is electrically charged. The part being painted is grounded, so the paint is attracted to the part being painted.
The bell is also used in powder coating. Although the bell looks different from a topcoat bell.
