Rudolf Fleischmann

Rudolf Fleischmann (May 1, 1903, Erlangen - February 3, 2002, Erlangen) was a German physicist and a pioneer of nuclear physics. He was imprisoned in the cause of Operation Alsos and returned to Germany from the Unites States in 1947, when he became professor at the University of Hamburg. He moved to Erlangen University in 1953 and continued to work on physics of nuclei and particles.
