Rumpus Cat

The Great Rumpus Cat is a fictional cat from T.S Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats and from Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, Cats. In Cats, the Jellicles put on a small play when their leader,Old Deuteronomy, arrives. The story is about how Rumpus Cat stopped two neighboring dog clans, the Pekes and Pollicles from fighting. It's a rather comical part of the musical. In the video, Rumpus Cat is played by Frank Thompson who also plays Admetus.

The Awful Battle of the Pekes and the Pollicles isn't in every single production of Cats. To save time, it's sometimes taken out or replaced with Growltiger's Last Stand. There are a few cases when both musical numbers are sung in the musical.
