Runaway train can mean:
- Runaway train (effect), a train which is unable to stop or be stopped. The usual outcome of a runaway train is a derailment or a collision with another train. For example: in May of 2001 an unmanned locomotive (CSXT SD40-2 8888) and 47 cars ran from Stanley Yard in Ohio and mowed down everything in its path before finally being stopped by a CSX worker.
- Runaway Train (film), a motion picture released in 1985 starring Jon Voight, Eric Roberts and Rebecca DeMornay.
- Runaway Train (song), a 1993 Grammy award-winning song by Soul Asylum from their 1992 album Grave Dancers Union; the music video helped reunite many missing children with their families
- Runaway Train (Elton John song), a song by Elton John and Eric Clapton featured on John´s album The One. The song was also featured on the movie Lethal Weapon 3.
- Runaway Train (album) is the title of an EP released by post-grunge band Oleander.
- Runaway Train (band), an Australian country music band.
