[modifică] why an universal template should be used?

• Having for each language "an universal template" for the same porpose in all of the projects in that language saves both the time to generate / adapt it and the time for the editors to find that template and to get used to it.
• The lines in the original template look similar to
  • [{{SERVER}}{{localurl:{{NAMESPACE}}:{{PAGENAME}}|from=R}} R]
• are not depending from the project / "server"
• Using
  • [http://ro.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title={{NAMESPACE}}:{{PAGENAMEE}}&from=R R] -
• is less elegant because in order to use the template in other projects all the lines need to be changed. If the change is done with a word processor some automatic character conversions could harm the code. If done by hand it takes both time and special attention to make all the changes.
• As suggested by en:User:Patrick the universal template will work (at this moment 5 Feb 2005 10:03 (UTC)) with lines like:
  • [{{SERVER}}{{localurl:{{NAMESPACE}}:{{PAGENAME}}|from=R}} R]

• The template Format:TOCcatTEST works fine at Categorie:Brazilia.
• At Categorie:Oraşe în Brazilia Format:TOCcatTEST generates broken links.

• Same problem is experienced at hu:Kategória:Románia települései clicking on "Test bugzilla".
• Note: The hungarian equivalent for "Category" is "Kategória" containing a Latin-1 character. This means that a template with localurl+PAGENAMEE will fail at all categories. Gangleri | Di | D 7 Mar 2005 11:48 (UTC)

• In the past at Categorie:Brazilia and Categorie:Finlanda all the subcategories could be found only at "the last page" (the last 200).
• Notes:
  • Because the software is continuously changed by the WikiMedia team, behaviour may change because of available patches or new software releases.
  • Examples may change because the lots of the articles / stubs from these categories could be "moved" to another category.
• If you use the template with the "from=" parameter you will see only the subcategories for that letter.

• The ordering for category pages can also be by lowercase letters. Sometimes it was not intended by the editor. / They are not aware of this. / They do not pay atenteion to this.
• The template should include:

1. an option to show categories from the first possible letter
2. an option to show categories from the last possible letter
3. an option deactivating the from= parameter
4. an option to show / find the subcategories;
   to my opinion they should be displayed every time
