Talk:Saša Matić

[edit] Is Sasa Matic considering himself a Bosnian, or Bosnian Serb?
If you don't have any statements from him that shows he said he is Bosnian Serb, you should delete your statement completely. Categorizing him based on his first name and last name is racist. He just told me, he is Bosnian and NOT Bosnian Serb, thus make sure that what you write is really accurate.

- Such issues don't really bother me (ie. one's chosen ethnicity). It wasn't I who saved the message stating that he is Serbian but given his name, I must admit that I would have thought the same thing. If you can provide an actual link as to where Matić stated that he was Bosnian, and more importantly where he specifies that he is not, as you say, Bosnian Serb, I will gladly remove the Serbian part. Until we know exactly what he is, it may be a better idea to remove his ethnicity entirely; just originating from Bosnia and being based in Serbia is enough relevant information. But the problem is, that almost everyone we know from our former republics is given an ethnicity (народност/narodnost) but probably over 90% of them have never announced what they are publicly. It is too easy to assume that is someone with an Islamic name from Serbia's Sandžak region is Bosniak and most of the time, nobody really disputes it. I don't know what to do at this stage with this article. Evlekis 07:40, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
