Sailor Galaxia is the self-described "Golden Queen of Shadow Galactica" who possesses the Sapphire Crystal and directly commands the Sailor Animamates. Her goal is to discover all the Sailor Crystals in the universe so that she can rule the universe unopposed.

[edit] Profile
[edit] Manga
Sailor Galaxia was born alone on a small planet she deemed "trash". She wandered through alone until the day her powers awakened. But she had no purpose for herself, and felt she needed something more in life. Even being just a Sailor Senshi was not enough; she craved something and she thought that was power.
She left her planet in search of another place which she could call home. During her travels she came upon a bar, talking to someone there she asked about the place "where stars are born". Not finding an answer, she determined that everyone there was "trash". But someone caught her attention when it spoke of the holy land she was searching for. That someone was Chaos.
Chaos showed Galaxia what she was looking for—the Galaxy Cauldron. She discovered that in order for her gain control of the Galaxy Cauldron she had to gather the Sailor Crystals of all the Sailor Soldiers of the galaxy. Those powers combined together with that of Sailor Moon would give her the ultimate power.
She then created Shadow Galactica and traveled to planet after planet turning them into places of death and stealing the star seeds of their guardian Sailor Soldier. Stealing someone's star seed allowed her to revive their dead body, and use it like a puppet, such as the solar system's Sailor Soldiers. Her first conquest on Earth was to steal Mamoru's golden star seed right in front of Usagi's eyes; and after that, she and her minions stole the life force of each of the Sailor Soldiers on Earth until only Sailor Moon, Chibichibi and the Sailor Quartet were left. At the Galaxy Cauldron, Galaxia proceeded to battle them, until she became aware that Chaos didn't care whether she was dead or alive.
Sailor Moon rescued her from falling over a cliff into the cauldron, and Galaxia finally realized that what she had always really wanted was love, not power. By accepting Sailor Moon's offer of friendship, the bracelets which supplied Galaxia with life and power shattered, and she died with a smile on her face.
[edit] Anime
Sailor Galaxia was once the legendary strongest Sailor Senshi in the universe. The Sailor Wars pitted all of the Sailor Senshi against those who infringed on love and justice. Eventually, the Wars ended when Sailor Galaxia sealed the source of all malice, Chaos, within her body to save the cosmos. However, Chaos began to increase its power while it was sealed. Knowing her power put the entire universe at risk, Galaxia expelled her star seed into the rural galaxy of the Milky Way, where the newly born stars of love and justice resided.
It was her last act of free will. Now completely controlled by Chaos, Sailor Galaxia sought to steal all the star seeds in the universe to control it for herself in the name of "Star Galaxia". Among the planets she wrecked was the planet Kinmoku; the Sailor Soldiers and the Princess of the planet managed to escape destruction and flee to Earth, the last place that Sailor Galaxia had not invaded.
To be able to enter Earth, Sailor Galaxia did two things first. She broke the seal of Queen Nehellenia, in order to force the awakening of the soldier of silence, Sailor Saturn. Galaxia wanted Sailor Saturn to be ready for Galaxia to take all the star seeds of the Solar System. After Nehellenia was defeated by Sailor Moon and she was given a second chance at life, Galaxia began her plan.
As Mamoru Chiba was flying to America to begin his studies, Galaxia froze the airplane he was travelling on in time and stole his golden star seed. Once this was done, she sent her Sailor Animamates to find true star seeds belonging to Sailor Soldiers - in other words, Sailor Crystals. After numerous failures, Galaxia would kill all of her Animamates, and eventually confronted the Sailor Soldiers herself.
Galaxia first battled Princess Kakyuu, who had recently come out of hiding. While Kakyuu was able to hold a barrier against Galaxia for a time, she was eventually overpowered and killed. The Starlights, Inner Sailor Soldiers, and the Outer Sailor Soldiers then initiated their own plans of attack. The Starlights confronted Galaxia first, but before their star seeds could be taken, the Inner Sailor Soldiers teleported in to rescue them. During Galaxia's attempt to steal the star seeds of the Starlights, the Inner Sailor Soldiers intervened directly, protecting them from attack and dying so that their star seeds were stolen instead.
With the battered Starlights protecting Sailor Moon and Chibi Chibi, the Outer Senshi confronted Galaxia. It was here that Galaxia revealed her hand in releasing Nehellenia and forcing Saturn to mature. Galaxia offered the Outer Sailor Soldiers a chance to serve her in exchange for their starseeds - an offer Uranus and Neptune accepted, killing Pluto and Saturn and then proceeding to hunt down the Starlights. With their own powers enhanced by Galaxia's power, Uranus and Neptune were able to overpower the Starlights, but turned on Galaxia at the last minute to try to take her starseed. Their attack failed since Galaxia had no starseed to take and the last two Outer Sailor Soldiers were killed.
The Starlights engaged in a final battle with Galaxia, the four transforming into beings of pure energy before the Starlights were finally defeated. Galaxia crushed Sailor StarFighter's hand and Sailor Star Yell with her heel before the Sailor Soldiers could try another assault, gloating that apart from the five in front of her - the three Starlights, Sailor Moon, and Chibi Chibi - every other being in the galaxy had had their starseed removed. Sailor Moon tries to restore her to normal but she stoppd her attack by breaking her weapon. Chibi Chibi finally revealed herself to be an incarnation of Galaxia's star seed. When Eternal Sailor Moon's star seed was taken after trying to defend the fallen Starlights, Chibi Chibi's powers awoke, stopping Galaxia's attack and restoring Sailor Moon's starseed. Once that was done, she asked Sailor Moon to kill Galaxia with her weapon, the Sword of Sealing.
Unable to do so, Sailor Moon instead gave Sailor Galaxia the strength to expel Chaos from her body, an act which returned darkness to the hearts of all life, where it belonged. Once this was done, Sailor Galaxia's soul was restored and the star seeds she had stolen were released. Galaxia then left with the task of returning the star seeds home.
Her seiyuu was Mitsuko Horie, an idol in Taiwan who also voiced lines from the manga for Galaxia's image songs.
[edit] Senshi powers
- Galactica Superstring - Rings of energy surround Sailor Galaxia which she blasts at her opponent. This attack is used in the manga and musicals.
- Galactica Inflation - Sailor Galaxia uses lightning to attack her opponent. This attack is used in the manga and musicals.
- Galactica Magnum - Sailor Galaxia fires a blast at her enemies. Used only in the musicals.
- Golden Bracelets - Sailor Galaxia's bracelets enable a body to live without a star seed, but the tradeoff is that the wearer is forced to do Galaxia's bidding. Her bracelets also give the wearer a seemingly unlimited increase of power that is provided by Sailor Galaxia. The only two Senshi to wear a bracelet and have the will to break free from her control are Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune. They also allow the wearer to remove a person's star seed.
- Golden Bracelet Blast - Sailor Galaxia unleashes a flurry of golden lights from her bracelets which cause explosive effects when it strikes ground and will steal a star seed if it connects with an opponent. Anyone wearing the bracelets can use this attack. This attack is only used in the anime.
- Fuuin no Ken - The "Sword of Sealing" is only called by this name in the anime, and may not actually be the weapon that Galaxia carries. It is carried by Princess Serenity in episode 200.
- She also used an energy whip against Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus once in the anime.
- She can make bolts of energy from the sky that are capable of taking a person's starseed. She uses this in episodes 195 and 196 to take the starseeds of normal humans (ie. non-Senshi).
- She can fly, in both the manga and anime, and in the latter can move faster than light.
- She is almost immortal. Though she can be hurt and killed it is unknown how much damage she can take. She has withstood multiple blasts that had the force to vaporize a normal human being. This is shown in the anime when she takes on the Sailor Starlights.
- She can destroy an entire planet, which is shown in the manga.
- She has the power to make at least some objects appear and disappear at will. Throughout Episode 181 she repeatedly puts telephones in Sailor Iron Mouse's vicinity and uses them to intimidate her.
[edit] Variations
In the Sailor Moon musicals (or Seramyu), Galaxia features prominently in the Sailor Moon Sailor Stars musical and its revision, the Eien Densetsu musical and its revision, Shin Densetsu Kourin, Starlights - Ryuusei Densetsu and Kakyuu-Ouhi Kourin.
Her musical story is similar to both the anime and manga versions. As in the manga, the final showdown with Galaxia often occurs in the Galactic Cauldron. As in the anime, Uranus and Neptune pretend to betray the others to work for Galaxia. It's worth noting that Chibichibi doesn't factor into the Sailor Moon Sailor Stars musical at all, but is included in the stories for all the others. Galaxia generally employs fewer Animamates in the musicals than in either the manga or anime. Several times, she resurrects Queen Beryl to work for her along with either Beryl's four generals or in one case the Amazon Trio.
Depending on the musical's story, Galaxia is either the final or next-to-last enemy the Senshi must defeat. In one version, Galaxia is successfully purged of evil and sacrifices herself to help the Senshi destroy Chaos, who had been posing as an Animamate.[citation needed] In another version, Galaxia becomes Sailor Chaos.[citation needed] In yet another version of the ending, Beryl will become Queen Metaria and fight alongside Sailor Chaos, forcing the Senshi to defeat them both.[citation needed]
