Salter-Harris Fractures: Descriptive terms for fractures affecting bone near or on the growth plate.
Type I - Fracture through the growth plate: 6% incidence
Type II - Fracture through growth plate and metaphysis: 75% incidence
Type III - Fracture through growth plate and epiphysis: 8% incidence
Type IV - Fracture through growth plate, metaphysis, and epiphysis: 10 % incidence
Type V - Fracture due to compression through growth plate: 1 % incidence
