Sammie Lee Smith (born May 16, 1967 in Orlando, Florida), is an American former professional football player who was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the 1st round (9th overall) of the 1989 NFL Draft. A 6'2", 226 lbs. running back from Florida State University, Smith played in four NFL seasons from 1989-1992 for the Dolphins and Denver Broncos.
Sammie Smith has had numerous legal problems since leaving professional football. In 1995 he was arrested for cocaine possession.[1]
