This is a list of notable hoaxes on Wikipedia. If it's clearly an attempt to make up something, as opposed to libel or other vandalism, then it's a hoax. If it evaded capture for over a month or became mentioned in the media, then it's notable.

- Talk:Loxodonta, host of The Colbert Report encouraged vandalism which added the claim that the population of elephants has tripled in the past 6 months.
- Tibeirus Lowang and several other articles, listed here: [5], mirror: [6]. I don't remember the dates, sorry, but it was definitely several months. Akriasas 00:38, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
