Siberian Lynx
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Siberian Lynx is a separate species from the Eurasian Lynx, though it is debated in classification. They live across Russia and parts of Scandinavia. They range in coloring from gray to yellow tinted, and have more spots in the summer. The coloring depends, sometimes it is a spotted coloration, but it can also be more striped in pattern. They can weigh up to 80 pounds.
[edit] Classification
The debate is weather this species of lynx is a separate species or merely a subspecies of the Eurasian Lynx. For now it is a species all its own, much like the Iberian Lynx or Spanish Lynx, which is found only on the Iberian peninsula. They are the larges of all lynxes.
[edit] Diet
These lynxes are known to eat ungulates that may be 3 to 4 times their own size, such as reindeer and sometimes musk deer, as well as rodents such as a pika and an arctic hare.
