Alternativa Sociale (Italian for "Social Alternative") is a coalition of neo-fascist political parties in Italy. The coalition grew from Freedom of Action (Libertà di Azione), which was founded by Benito Mussolini's granddaughter Alessandra Mussolini after she left the National Alliance (Alleanza Nazionale) due to their attempts to move away from their fascist past.
Mussolini united her group with the National Social Front (Fronte Sociale Nazionale), Tricolor Flame (Fiamma Tricolore), and New Force (Forza Nuova) for the 2004 European Parliament election, gaining one seat in the European Parliament. The group is committed to a strong Italian nationalism that celebrates and glorifies its past, and has been particularly critical of Gianfranco Fini's modernisation of the right.
In the 2006 Italian general elections the party was a member of the defeated House of Freedoms and won no seats. The New Force left the coalition afterwards.
