Soramimi
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Soramimi kashi (空耳歌詞; literally, misheard lyrics) is a word used in the Japanese language to describe lyrics of a song that sound like the original, but are actually made up.
An example would be the Moldovan band O-Zone's song Dragostea din tei or Maiyahi (マイヤヒー, named from the words that start the song - ma-ia-hii, ma-ia-huu...).
One line of the original lyrics are:
- Alo, salut. Sunt eu, un haiduc. (Translation: "Hello, greetings, it's me, an outlaw.")
One of the Japanese soramimi kashi of that line is:
- Arrow 猿 すげぇ… うん? 拝読 (Arou saru sugee... un? haidoku) (Translation: "Arrow, monkey, amazing... Yeah? Reading.")
Japanese comedian and TV personality Tamori has had a long-running "Soramimi Hour" segment on his TV program, where he and his co-host watch mini-skits based on soramimi kashi submitted by the audience.
