Spider Grandmother
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In native American religions and myths, Spider Grandmother is creator of the world. She was also responsible for the stars in the sky. She took a web she had spun, and laced it with dew. She then threw it into the sky, and the dew became the stars.
There is a native American playwright, Murray Mednick, who wrote, seven one act plays called The Coyote Cycles with the same four characters. They are Coyote, Coyote trickster, Spider Grandmother and Mute Girl. These same characters come from traditional native American stories and myths.
