St Martin's Ampleforth (SMA) is the Preparatory School for Ampleforth College. It is situated only a few miles from Ampleforth in Gilling Castle.
The School has experienced many changes over the past ten years or so years, from being "Gilling Castle Preparatory School", to "Ampleforth College Junior School" and now it's present "St Martin's Ampleforth" after the merger with the nearby St Martin's Preparatory School in Norton.
Cardinal Basil Hume was once Headmaster of the then Gilling Castle.
