The Bad Girls Club is a reality-based series that debuted on Oxygen on December 6, 2006. And on the day the show debuted, it had the highest ratings than any other show on the Oxygen network[1]. The series is produced by Bunim/Murray Productions.

The Bad Girls Club features seven "Bad Girls" that live together for four months. During that time, the girls must try to get along with each other and try to accomplish their goals by the end of the four months.

Ripsi (23 1/2) (Boston): Ripsi is an admittedly spoiled girl who has never lived apart from her parents - she confesses that until she was eight-years-old, she thought she was an actual princess. She works, but doesn't have to, because her Dad supports her impulsive shopping addiction and her Mom does her laundry. With attitude for miles, Ripsi is confrontational, materialistic and opinionated. She is judgmental of promiscuous girls and cheap people. She has a hard time controlling her anger and if you cross her, you'll wish you hadn't. She was kicked off the show in Episode 2 for attacking Kerry and Jodie under the influence.

Zara (22) (New York): A wild child from a small town in New York with a population of 200, Zara can come off as a bit slow and cruel at the same time. Being the youngest one of the group, Zara tends to say and do the wrong things that makes all the girls in the house dislike her. Zara is always in the middle of some type of drama, more so with Aimee than any other girl. Zara has joined the Bad Girls Club to see if she could make it in a big city by herself. She has a boyfriend, Jared. But almost lost him when she kissed Tomik. Also, in the episode "Chicken Scratch", Zara cut her wrist in an attempted suicide.

Leslie (24) (Atlanta):Leslie is a 24-year-old exotic dancer from Atlanta, who realizes the path she's on and doesn't want to dance for much longer. She is conflicted because she loves the money she makes and the lifestyle she leads, but doesn't want to end up as an old and jaded dancer. She's had to deal with a rough past - physical assault and being used by people close to her - but she believes that she grew stronger for it. After starting college, Leslie left the show.

Kerry (31) (Texas/Tennessee): Kerry is a fairly well-known singer known as "the sex kitten of country music." She has recently been dropped by her record label for irresponsible behavior - her frequent absences from rehearsals and the fact that her writing sessions seemed to pale in importance to her social commitments all led up to the split. Kerry has been married,(to country singer Daryl Singletary) and currently has a boyfriend, but she seems to stray frequently. In fact her ex and current boyfriend toured together for a time a few years back. She has all the tools to be successful but can't quite keep to the straight and narrow.

Aimee (24) (South Philly): Aimee is an abrasive 24-year-old from South Philadelphia. She gets into physical fights from time to time - which she credits to her father, who used to encourage her to stand up for herself. She believes she doesn't need to take attitude from anyone and reacts harshly to any criticism. Aimee pulls no punches when dealing with others. She's a loudmouth who doesn't get along with other girls and can't hold a job because of her tell-it-like-it-is persona.

Jodie (29) (Baltimore): Jodie, a 29-year-old from Baltimore, is a Playboy Bunny blonde with a brain. Conservative office worker by day, Jodie turns into a sexy social butterfly at night, often engaging in fights with girls in bars. Jodie is the first one to shake her booty on the dance floor and have a blast in a club - yet when provoked, she's been known to mace an entire dance floor. A rebel from a religious background, Jodie loves to have fun and is aware of her outrageous, sometimes vindictive, behavior.

Ty (23) (Atlanta): Ty is a 25-year-old "hustler" who has made a living dancing in adult clubs and running pool tables. Growing up in foster care, she learned from a very young age to depend on herself for survival. Ty even did some jail time as a juvenile after running away from a home she was placed in. Underneath her "tough girl" exterior, Ty aspires to be a positive influence to girls who have struggled as she did - to let them know they are not alone. She is also an aspiring songwriter and is working on her autobiography called "Love Me or Hate Me." She was kicked off the show for punching Aimee during a house trip to the beach.

DeAnn (27) (Texas) : DeAnn is an animated blonde from Texas who is in a state of prolonged adolescence. She cannot seem to hold down jobs - if she hasn't yet been fired, she'll most likely quit. Deann has a seven- year-old son who lives with his father. She also has a boyfriend of four years who tames her crazy, party girl tendencies - but they fight constantly. She is outspoken and has not learned to think before she speaks.

Joanna (25) (Sacramento): Joanna is a striking Hispanic beauty who go-go dances… but her parents don’t even know about her line of work. She’s recently gotten breast implants to complement her lean physique. She’s currently cheating on her boyfriend and has been known to use a sugar daddy to buy her what she wants, and even calls herself a golddigger. Her mom taught her this—to seek out men who can provide for her.

Andrea(23) (High Point): Andrea is a sassy, funny girl who everyone says "talks white." Her lower-middle class Jamaican parents put her (and most of their finances) into private Catholic school in a rough neighborhood of High Point, North Carolina. Andrea is a recent college graduate who can't seem to find a career, or even hold down a waitressing job. She also pulls no punches when it comes to her lack of commitment in past relationships

Oxygen announced a six-episode spin-off, Bad Girls Road Trip, which will put season-one vets––stripper Leslie, loudmouth Aimee and pariah Zara––behind the wheel for a whirlwind tour of their respective hometowns.
