The Swords of Wayland is the fifth episode in the second season of the television series Robin of Sherwood.
[edit] Plot
The village of Uffcombe is getting nightly visits from strangely disguised riders, called "The Hounds of Lucifer" by locals, who kill and drag away terrified villagers. The riders have also been seen robbing a local church, badly injuring the priest who worked there. Gareth of Uffcombe decides to travel to Sherwood to ask "the people's hero" for help against these devils. The Hounds are in league with a group of pious and well-respected nuns who in reality are a coven of witches. They need all of the Seven Swords of Wayland to empower a ritual to summon something infernal. The only sword they don't have is Robin's Albion.
This episode is packed with spells and magic, romance and derring do. Rula Lenska plays Morgwyn of Ravenscar.

Wayland is the Saxon name for Volund, the smith-god of Germanic / Nordic mythology.
The name "Morgwyn" is probably derived from Morgan le Fay.
