Tilak Nagar - New Delhi is one of the areas in West Delhi. It is approximately seventeen kilometers from the New Delhi Railway Station and twenty-two kilometers from the Indira Gandhi International Airport. Tilak Nagar is connected with Delhi Metro from Connaught Place, making it easier for the commuters to reach Tilak Nagar. Tilak Nagar is quite popular for its market, offering wide variety of products like branded clothings, consumer durables.
The demography of Tilak Nagar basically consists of Sikhs and Hindu Punjabis living in perfect harmony with each other. Various areas like Chowkhandi, Ashok Nagar, Fateh Nagar, Virender Nagar, Shahpura, Sant Nagar Mukherji Park all fall under the name of Tilak Nagar constituency. The landmark of Tilak Nagar is a Gurdwara, which is in 20th block of Tilak Nagar. Tilak Nagar is also having a Industrial Area.

Tilak Nagar market is one of the leading shopping centre in West Delhi. After Karol Bagh this is the most bussiest market in the west region. Most of the residents of Janak Puri, Vikas Puri, Dwarka and nearby colonies prefer Tilak Nagar Market for their shopping requirements. If you are in Tilak Nagar and interested in any kind of shopping, you are not very far away from a great shopping experience. Some of the leading Jewellery show-rooms are also having their main out-let in Tilak Nagar. Apart from the Tilak Nagar Main Market and The Mall Road one can visit the nearby and extremely famous Main Market of Rajouri Garden.
For entertainment one can go to PVR Vikas Puri and Satyam Cineplex in Janak Puri district center. In past few years the infrastructure has improved in Tilak Nagar with a flyover and landscaping of parks and playgrounds.

One of the well organised R.W.A, Tilak Nagar East has done quite a tremendous job in improving the infrastructure of the area. There has been a great development in terms of roads, parks, street lights etc. with the kind cooperation of Sh.O.P. Babbar - MLA and Dr. Anita Babbar - Dy. Mayor of Delhi. Sh. Anil Khanna is the President of this RWA. Like previous years RWA - Tilak Nagar (East)celebrated HOLI festival with great enthusium. All the residents joined the HOLI function. There was lot of entertainment for everyone. Mr Anil Sharma(20 Block) is a very active social worker here.
