Townsville CBD is the Central Business District of Townsville, Queensland. The CBD is also the Main Government centre in Queensland outside the South-East, and is also considered as the Economic Centre of North Queensland.

The CBD is home to the regional offices of various State and Federal Government bodies and organisations such as Centrelink and the Australian Taxation Office, as well as Private entities such as the Commonwealth Bank, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Suncorp Metway, Coles Group, and Ergon Energy just to name a few. The CBD over the past few years has been redeveloped in many forms, including infrastructure, Increasing Residential and Commercial Development and Retail, with the latter having slumped in the late 90's due to the undesirabilty of the area. The main Retail strip of the CBD, Flinders Mall, is in the planning stages of a multi-million dollar upgrade, which will see the mall open up to slow-traffic, and redevelop it to a more desirable stage for many retailers, workers and residents of the surrounding areas.
