[edit] Rationale for fair use
I completely object to the claim that this image can be replaced by a "free" image. It cannot. This is an image of a fictional character. It is no different than if a screenshot were used. 23skidoo 15:16, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- I agree with 23skidoo's statement here. If this image was being used to depict the actress, it would be a clear violation of WP:FU in that particular instance. But it's not (currently) and even if it were, it would only be a violation in that particular instance. --Yamla 15:45, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
In addition to the above comment, there are many articles in which similar character images are used. See, for example, Jackie_Tyler (just a random example). 23skidoo 15:41, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- Indeed. It is never possible to replace a fictional character image with a free image. The image inherits the copyright of the creative work, thus it would still be (c) to Paramount/Viacom. Pursuant to this to avoid "Instruction creep" of unneeded bureaucratic process I have de-tagged the image. thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 19:56, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Source
What's the source for this image? It's importat to have a verifiable source when claiming an image is promotional, as it's not uncommon for editors to believe almost any image found on the internet is intended for wide third part promotional re-use. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Abu badali (talk • contribs) 14:00, 14 February 2007 (UTC).
