The "Trophy of the Alps" (French: Trophée des Alpes or Trophée d'Auguste) is a Roman monument located on the territory of the commune of La Turbie. It was built between 7 and 6 A.D. as a monument to Augustus's conquest of the Alps. It is located 6 km from Monte Carlo.
The monument was made up of a square base, a circular drum surrounded by columns, a conical pyramid, and a bronze statue of Augustus. It was made of limestone, and stood 45m tall. The monument was modeled after the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus. It was used as a quarry during the Middle Ages, and mostly ruined, but a large portion of the base and drum survive today.
