The University of Nebraska-Omaha is a public university apart of the University of Nebraska system located in Omaha, NE. Founded in 1908, the university has seen a resurgence in the last decade as moving away from being a commuter campus servicing the needs of individuals in the city to that of an institution having areas of housing and other amenities on-campus drawing students in from across the country. Of particular mention are programs of political science and education, along with graduate programs in business.
The University of Nebraska-Omaha is involved in the North Central Conference for all athletic teams. The nickname of the university is the Mavericks. The school's official colors are scarlet and black. UNO is one of the most successful and elite NCAA Div. II athletic programs in the nation and is also home to a top NCAA Div.
