Varèse Sarabande
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Varèse Sarabande is a record label which specializes in soundtracks (Blood Diamond, Hollywoodland) and original cast recordings (I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change), reissues of hard-to-find, long out-of-print or previously-unavailable albums (Prettybelle, Promises, Promises), and new releases by major artists (Petula Clark, Patti Lupone, Cher) no longer under contract with a label. It was named for the French-born composer Edgard Varèse.
Recently celebrating its 25th anniversary, Varèse Sarabande is the largest soundtrack record label in the world, and has released many instrumental scores by film composers such as Jerry Goldsmith, Elliot Goldenthal, Elmer Bernstein, Bernard Herrmann, and Alex North.
Varèse Sarabande releases oldies and reissues through its Varèse Vintage imprint.
