[edit] WP MOS prefers lead section
The WP MOS prefers "lead section (lead paragraph or introduction)" [1]. --Jtir 15:33, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] assertion in the FAQ section
I guess that was you who put the assertion in the FAQ section. I moved it to the Discussion section. I'll be on wikibreak so that won't happen again. :-) Are you going to put something on your user page? Your user name appears in red instead of blue. --Jtir 18:23, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, well it was meant as a newbie question... I will reword it and move it back. --Vesal 18:27, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Citation guidelines proposal
Your vote counts: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Mathematics#Citation guidelines proposal support.
I just added this to my watchlist: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Physics/Citation_guidelines_proposal. --Jtir 18:44, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] There are plenty of things to been done on WP.
Hi, thanks for saving the defs. There are plenty of things to been done on WP.
FYI, I read your longer Einstein footnote and would say that you have a talent for paraphrasing that would be valuable anywhere on WP. I was copyediting Numerical Recipes when I realized the sentence before the extended quote is essentially a paraphrase and that I didn't really know how to do that. The whole article could use a onceover. Maybe you could take a look at it. --Jtir 18:45, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
- I happened upon this edit of Trigger_pad. It impressed me because it eliminated copyvio while significantly improving the prose. --Jtir 18:50, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
About the Numerical Recipes, I had a quick look, and it seems quite difficult to fix, as the authors are somewhat ironic about their stated scope. On the other hand, it's not that bad as it stands right now, so... I'd rather focus on philosophy of mathematics, which I at least have some knowledge about. --Vesal 18:16, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

- NP. Thanks for taking a look — maybe I don't feel so bad now. :-) --Jtir 18:30, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
