Vision Airlines
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Vision Airlines, formerly Vision Air, is a Las Vegas, Nevada based airline. This airline operates air tours of the Grand Canyon, Marble Canyon, Hoover Dam, and Monument Valley. During the summer season, Vision Airlines flies white water rafters to their destinations along the Colorado River.
Vision currently offers regular service between its hub at the North Las Vegas Airport and Mesa, Arizona's Williams Gateway Airport. As of April, 2006, "Vision Airlines is operating as a charter carrier, but is seeking federal government certification to operate as a commercial airline." [1]
Pending United States Department of Transportation approval, the airline hopes to expand service. From Williams Gateway Airport, the airline plans to add flights to Williams, Arizona and Bullhead City International Airport which serves Laughlin, Nevada. From Scottsdale Municipal Airport in Scottsdale, Arizona, the airline will add flights to North Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon, pending Scottsdale City Council approval. In addition to the Arizona services, the airline is also planning the addition of service between North Las Vegas and McClellan-Palomar Airport in Carlsbad, California and Long Beach Municipal Airport in Long Beach, California. Further in the future, the airline hopes to add service to Central and Northern California and Utah. To accommodate service expansion, the airline will also add three additional turboprop powered Dornier 328 and three jet-powered Dornier 328JET aircraft. [2][3][4] Previously slated to start in September 2006, as of December 2006, this expansion of service had yet to begin.
