[edit] Alsos is not spam
I just wanted to write here (as I think I did once before) that I will vouch for the Alsos links not being spam. They are for a high-quality and unique not-for-profit resource (an annotated bibliography of nuclear issues, very useful and one-of-a-kind). The links are a great way for people interested in the articles to find other books about the subject, and the quality of the annotations is very high. --Fastfission 17:43, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
Yes, perhaps Alsos is not spam, but it is definitely linkspam as Wikipedia chooses to define it. Moreover, the Hyman G. Rickover page has an exhaustive bibliography, relative to which the Alsos link's content is quite weak with respect to relevance. The Rickover list of publications is focused on Rickover, whereas the Alsos link's content was highly peripheral, and added no other books directly associated with Rickover that were not already listed. It has been removed on this basis. --66.69.219.9 02:29, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- It's not just a bibliography, it's the annotations which make it worthwhile. On the whole I think the links are good ones which add to pages, though for people who do not yet have extensive coverage I could understand not including links on an individual basis. But on the whole the links are good for the articles. --Fastfission 02:48, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
