Westmont is a census-designated place (CDP) in Los Angeles County, California, United States. The population was 31,623 at the 2000 census.
Generally this area is considered unincorporated South Los Angeles. Services are provided by County agencies and not by the City of Los Angeles.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 31,623 people, 9,255 households, and 7,089 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 6,599.8/km² (17,103.0/mi²). There were 10,186 housing units at an average density of 2,125.9/km² (5,509.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 11.76% White, 57.98% African American, 0.60% Native American, 0.38% Asian, 0.20% Pacific Islander, 25.77% from other races, and 3.31% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 39.53% of the population.
There were 9,255 households out of which 47.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 33.9% were married couples living together, 34.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.4% were non-families. 19.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.41 and the average family size was 3.85.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 37.8% under the age of 18, 10.5% from 18 to 24, 29.3% from 25 to 44, 16.3% from 45 to 64, and 6.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 26 years. For every 100 females there were 86.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 78.5 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $23,323, and the median income for a family was $23,712. Males had a median income of $24,682 versus $25,775 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $9,765. About 35.3% of families and 36.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 46.7% of those under age 18 and 22.1% of those age 65 or over.
