WKMM hit the airwaves on August 23th, 1985 and has always had a country format. WKMM runs ABC satellite programming most of the day, with a local DJ weekday mornings. WKMM had previously went by the name "96-7 KMM" until 2005, when it began using the "K-Country" moniker. WKMM is owned by Kingwood area businessman P.J. Corgan under the MarPat Corp. name. Studios are located on Main Street in Kingwood with their transmitter along West Virginia Route 7 near Terra Alta, West Virginia.
