[edit] History on cable
WLFT started out as Cox cable channel 4, airing programming from the Pax (now i) network in 1998. They also aired local religious programming on cable channel 17 on WLFT/2. In 2002, WLFT converted to all-religious programming and Pax television was then seen on cable channel 14.
In the fall of 2005, WLFT-CA launched its over-the-air signal on channel 30 and a new programming schedule.
WLFT 30 reaches over 300,000 homes in the Greater Baton Rouge area via the Cox Cable system and its new over-the-air signal. The station originates at its studios at 13567 Plank Road in Baker.
The flagship program of the station, Lifeline with Larry Stockstill, airs three times daily: 6:30 a.m., 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.
The station carries a unique combination of programming ministry programs like Life in the Word with Joyce Meyer, Kenneth Copeland, Lakewood (with Joel Osteen), Life Today with James Robison and others.
In November 2002, WLFT launched its new 500 foot tower, allowed the station to increase its signal and reach countless more homes in communities like Hammond, Gonzales, New Roads and St. Francisville.
The tower is located along Interstate 10 near Siegen Lane across from Tinseltown.
