Saint Vincent and the Grenadines national football team named Zoran Vranes as the new coach on 20 September 2004. The Yugoslavian born coach who is a defensive coach has made a very good job out of the defence of St Vincent and the Grenadines football team. And now they are known as a big bad defensive team. Zoran Vranes took six points of six game in Fifa World Cup Qualifying but it was too little. Then came the Digicel cup it was not a bad finish, then the history setting year came in 2006 when they beat Jamaica in a 2-1 win. First time ever St Vincent beat Jamaica in football, and they won it with defence. But like they were ganna win the Cup by doing that but it wasn't to be. But they made it to the 8 team Finals.
